Russia-Ukraine Sanctions Forum: Impact on Your Business from EU and US Perspectives
Webinar
March 30, 2022, 2:00pm-4:00pm.
In response to Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, the United States and the European Union have significantly expanded sanctions and export controls against Russia, Belarus and certain regions of Ukraine. While these sanctions have largely targeted Russia’s financial and energy sectors, as well as Russian officials and oligarchs, there has been a ripple effect across the globe on many other sectors, including the industrial, technology and luxury industries. Companies should take note in particular that U.S. sanctions can apply to non-U.S. companies, particularly those with U.S. affiliates/branches or employees or that source any U.S. goods, software, or technology. As a result, companies should consider the legal, business and reputational impact of U.S. and EU sanctions on any existing or potential business activities involving Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine.
With this webinar experts from the US and EU will start with a brief presentation on the sanctions recently imposed on Russia. Following the presentation, this program will transition to a roundtable forum to discuss common challenges experienced by global companies, lessons learned so far, and practical tips on navigating this new sanctions landscape both now and in the near future. The program will conclude with a Q&A session in which our experts will answer hands-on questions that any companies might have, including those on the implications of the sanctions for their contractual obligations and on the counter sanctions issued by Russia.
